The usual crew (Lesley, Paul, Joseph, Nathan, Robert, Gavin, Cimmie and I) went on a narrow boat around the Warwickshire Ring
. We hired the excellent Hawkesbury
69 feet narrow boat from Ashby Boats
at Stoke Golding near Nuneaton.
Lesley kept us fed and watered to the usual high standard! The weather was fantastic apart from the last day and I think a good time was had by all.
The Warwickshire ring is formed from the Coventry Canal, the Oxford Canal, the Grand Union Canal, the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal and the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. It is a popular route with tourists due to its circular route and mixture of urban and rural landscapes and makes for a busy week!
